Hey out there,
First off, TWIN TRILOGY is currently seeking a drummer. Get in touch if you’re interested. Roger and I are deep working on a bunch of new stuff. We’re getting ready to record a few songs and need someone reliable and energetic to come into the fold. Got a show 5/22 too, so time’s a wastin’.
Secondly, keep and eye out for SHOTGUN BRAUTIGAN. We’ll be back out there soon.
2/11/13
The trio is now called TWIN TRILOGY. We are moving forward with Sean on guitar, Roger Riedlbauer on bass, and the ever ruling Warren heugel on drums. Our first show is 2/19 at Amnesia.
SEAN SMITH RESIDENCY AT AMNESIA EVERY TUESDAY IN FEBRUARY. Go to the SHOWS page for info.

HELLO! It’s been a slow couple of months. And I apologize for not being very active here or on any of the other interweb things I have. Oh well. The energy is coming back. Stay tuned.
Thanks to anyone who was at the Autobahn show last week at the Vogue Theater. We will definitely be doing it again sometime.
Thanks also to everyone at the show in Monterey where I opened for WINO. Wow. You guys were great. A really inspiring show for me.
Like I said, stay tuned. I’m getting back in the game.
6/18/2012
Every single song I have recorded is now available for super cheap over at my NEW bandcamp page! All the dough I can get from selling on there will go directly to recording a new album. Head on over and CHECK IT OUT!
6/14/2012
Lotsa Stuff coming up.
There will be a fundraising concert in San Bruno at the music School I teach at on June 30th.
We’ll hit the studio in July to make a new album.
August 1st we play Kraftwerk’s Autobahn album in it’s entirety preceding The Big Lebowski at the Vogue Theater in SF.
August 4th I’ll be playing solo in Monterey opening up for Wino. Stay tuned for all details!
6/5/2012
We hit a little slow patch here. Maybe some gigs to come. Just started talking about recording a new album. Plenty of material. That’ll probably happen in August or so… Keep checkin back. Oh yeah, I ditched the band name–again.
4/16/2012
Absolutely ripping show with OWL over the weekend! Santa Cruz on Friday, then an all ages show in Monterey Saturday.
3/7/2012
We’re gearing up for our crazy couple of shows next week. SXSW on Tuesday, SF on Wednesday.
We have toyed with the idea of naming the band for a while. While it makes sense to keep my name on there, I want to highlight the contributions of Spencer and Roger. We are now called: SEAN SMITH & IDEAS.
2/20/2012
Tons of shows! I’m trying to get dates together for the NW for Memorial Day Weekend. If you are a band or venue interested in booking us, hit me up!
2/20/2012

First off, I will be performaing SOLO acoustic at a John Fahey Tribute show on 2/28 in Portland Oregon. INFO

Next up, we perform at 11pm on 3/13 at Headhunters in Austin for SXSW.
And the next night we’re back in SF for a very special show at the Knockout where we will have two drummers: Warren Huegel and Nick Tamburo. HOLY SHIT.
More shows down the line. We hope to see you out there somewhere!

We’re getting back in gear. Roger is an incredible addition to the band. We’re working on new stuff and improving old stuff. This is the best incarnation thus far in the “Sean Smith Trio” legacy. Without really aiming at it, we are almost done with material for the next record, which if histroy dictates the future, will be out in five years!
Our next show is on Feb 1 at the Elbo Room. Also on the bill are The Drift and Satya Sena, the latter features Peijman Kouretchian of Secret Chiefs 3. That dude is a FORCE. This will be a great show.
Also just announced a Fahey Tribute show in Portland on 2/28 and another SF superjammer on 3/14. Check out the shows page.

Fairly extensive interview regarding “Huge Fluid Freedom” can be found here.
12/14/2011
Thanks to everyone who came early last night and saw our set at Bottom of the Hill. Roger killed it on his first show with us. We’re looking to pick up speed again, so if you want to play shows or go on tour, hit us up.
12/05/2011
Hello again,
It’s been a while. The trio has come alive again with the addition of new bass player, Roger Riedlbauer. He is a force to be reckoned with. The first chance to see us with the new line up is next Tuesday at the Bottom of the Hill. We’re opening for Jesse Sykes & the Sweet Hereafter and the Watson Twins. Not sure how we fit in there, but they wanted us. See you there.
10/31/2011
Happy Halloween. Thanks again to everyone who cam eto El Rio on Friday night, a bigtime shout out to our superfan who was freaking out in the front row, and Warren Huegel for playing drums. It was Marc’s last show with us. Thanks for the good times, buddy. It was almost four years. I’m going to miss you.
Hiatus time now. Gonna try out a couple bass players and see what clicks. Our next show isn’t till December 13th at Bottom of the Hill in SF. Till then…
10/24/2011
Thanks to Chuck Johnson, Arborea and everyone else who made the Mindgaze Hut show a really positive experience.
Come to El Rio on Friday night, the 28th to see my trio with Marc Dantona -his last show with us- and Warren Huegel on drums. 3 Leafs and the Misfits cover band, AstroZombies also play. It’s going to be a killer show.
10/19/2011
I’m putting together a Bobb Saggeth website. Check it out.
Also, solo show this Sauturday in Oakland at the Midgaze Hut. Arborea and Chuck Johnson also perform. 24th at MLK? Your guess is as good as mine…
10/10/2011
Thanks to anyone who tuned in to KALX Sunday morning to hear us play. It was a blast. I love rocking the am on FM.
The news is that after years of quality service in the Bass Guitar department, Marc Dantona is leaving the band. He’s moving on to bigger and better things. It’s been great to evolve with him and his playing will be sorely missed.
It goes without saying that I am looking for a new bass player!
Being in my band goes like this:
-You get full creative control of what you play and help out with arrangements.
-The commitment is fairly limited. We play 1-3 shows locally per month, a long weekend out of town here and there, maybe a week or two once in a while for longer tours.
-We practice 1-3 times to prepare for a string of shows. (But I’m always open to jamming more often)
-We’ll be recording a new album in a couple of months, you get to be on that too!
-Local show money is split evenly, out of town money goes to expenses first, then split evenly. Every so often, I’ll drop $100 on you just for being so cool.
-You must have your own gear. Bass amp should be at least 100 watts, cab at least 1×15″ or 4×10″.
Email me if you’re interested. I can get you current recordings and we can jam on something to see if this works out.
Come see us play this Saturday at the Hemlock!
Thanks,
Sean

Hey out there! A huge THANKS to Adam, Keith and everyone at the Crepe Place for having us for three weeks in a row! A big shout out to everyone who came to witness. And a round of applause to Misty Mountain, Prizehog, Phil Manley, 3 Leafs, and Spencer Owen for bringing it!
9/26/2011
A big thanks to everyone who has been attending the shows in Santa Cruz. It’s been a blast. Really deeply quality sets from all involved.
The last of the series is this Wednesday the 28th. 3 leafs, Ava Mendoza and Spencer Owen also perform. Don’t miss out!
We’ve been recording the shows. It’s sounding really good and I’m hoping to have enough solid material for a Gnome Life cassette live album! Looking likely!
See you Wednesday!
Sean

Devastating (if I do say so myself) solo electric maiden voyage on Friday night. It was a blast. Undeniably riding off the rails, but the seal is broken. Watch out Santa Cruz on 9/14…The two amps/looper exploration descends again.
“Huge Fluid Freedom” officially drops tomorrow. I’m stoked it’s finally out.
More shows and stuff coming down the pike daily. Thanks for checking in!

Thanks to John Fowler for being such a nice guy and coming to the Makeout Room show to buy my Larrivee. It is sorely missed, but couldn’t have joined a better family! The good news is that I reinvested the dough in another ’79 SG and I’m feeling really inspired. I’ll be performing solo electric at the Makeout on the 26th. More shows coming down the pipe on a regular basis. Stay tuned…
8/8/2011
I’m selling my Larrivee L-03. It’s an amazing guitar. I’d love to sell it to a friend or fan. It’s on Craigslist in SF.
Email Sean Smith.

Upon the impending release of “Huge Fluid Freedom” on August 30th, we’re gearing up with some shows over the summer. Go to the shows page for all pertinent info. We’ll be touring the trio. It’s getting heavy. We’d love to see you out there.
I’m just about ready to book a West Coast tour for the Fall. If you are a band or a venue or a booking agent that wants to collaborate, get in touch!!! Email Sean Smith.
Just started a project with Aaron Sheppard. Spaced out electric guitar syzygy. Heady. Stay tuned on that. It’s going to be called either Sheppard/Smith or Common One. Not sure yet.
That’s it for now.
